Dine with Dignitaries welcomes Consul Andrew Szabo, Creator of the Budapest to Bamako Rally

Globe trotting Consul to show documentary film prior to dinner.

He’s a diplomat.  He’s an entrepreneur.  He’s driven from eastern Europe to west Africa – a dozen times.  He’s camped many nights in the Sahara Desert crossing Mauritania, a land so dangerous it caused the Paris-Dakkar Rally to move to South America.

A founder of the Budapest Holocaust Museum, He’s a multi-lingual, Jewish representative of an Islamic country.  The Honorable Andrew Szabo, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Mali in his native Budapest, Hungary, is the creator of the Budapest to Bamako Rally, the longest automobile race, rally and aid mission to west Africa.

In the next few months Consul Szabo will be appointed Traveling Ambassador to the North America by the nation of Guinea-Bissau, a diplomatic status rarely seen anywhere in the world.  In February he’ll  again be with the 400 participants in the Budapest to Bamako Rally.

…And on June 22, he’s coming to dinner.

Consul Warren of Las Vegas was recently recruited by the two-time winning team of the Budapest to Bamako, and intends to join the 2012 race

Consul Andrew Szabo about the purpose of the Rally, and his school development projects in west Africa.  The film will be followed by dinner at Petra Greek Taverna in Tivoli Village, Las Vegas.
